The service

CoreCanopy is a greenhouse gas accounting ledger. It calculates emissions figures from the activity data you supply, using published emission factors from named public sources, and produces reports and exports from those figures.

What we do not provide

• We do not provide assurance. We produce the evidence an assurance provider asks for; we are not that provider.
• We do not provide legal, tax or regulatory advice. Whether a given disclosure satisfies a given obligation is a question for your advisers.
• We do not warrant that a figure calculated from data you supply is correct if the data you supplied was not.

Your data is yours

You retain all rights in the data you enter. We claim rights in our curation, normalisation and resolution layer, and in the software, not in the underlying public emission factor datasets and not in your records. You may export your figures, their lineage and the audit trail at any time in CSV and XLSX, and your report PDFs are yours to keep.

Availability

We do not offer a contractual uptime figure at this stage, because our current architecture is a single availability zone and we would rather say that than publish a number we have not earned. When the architecture changes, the commitment will change with it and this section will say so.

Ending the agreement

You may close your account at any time and export everything first. If we discontinue the service, we will give notice and keep exports available through the notice period, because a ledger you cannot take with you is not a ledger.

These terms are in review with counsel. Until that review concludes, they describe how we intend to operate and how we will behave; the executed contract set will supersede this page.
